Question by ♫amazing♫: Training an older cat to use the litter box?
Our cat has always been an outdoor cat.
He goes to bathroom outside.
We moved and we have a coyote problem, so we don’t want him to be outside.
We want him to stay inside and use the litterbox.
Is it possible to train him to do this?
He has never used one before.
He is 11.
Please help.

Yes it is possible! I know this from experience with an older cat of our own. All you need to do is put him in the litter box. If he does not use the litter box, and messes else where, get stern, but don’t hollar… take him to the mess and put his nose “near” but don’t rub it in (that is very unsafe to do for disease purposes and just cruel) and tell him No, and immediately set him in the litter box and make him smell the litter. He should take to the litter box but if not, repeat the process. Make sure that you clean up the buy prozac mess he made very well so he does not use it there again.
Good Luck!
