Billy a one and a half year old Maine Coon Cat who I toilet trained using a make shift system, i heavy duty bin liner at first to cover the bowl with litter added, many people have had problems with their cats only peing on the floor i managed to get billy to poo also in the toilet by covering the floor with boxes and raising the area around the toilet so that he wouldnt feel exposed while on top of the toilet. Cats dont like to feel vulnerable while pooing but are more inclined to pee there without much problem. so raise the surrounding area and cover the rest of the floor.

My grandma is soon going to have to be in a nursing home and i was thinking i would like to be able to bring a cat into the nursing home since i have seen how happy they make people.
I just started looking into this, and was hoping for some advice on how to go about this. I would be interested in getting a kitten so i could train him/her in the best way available.
Does anyone have any websites/organizations/personal experience they would like to share?

Answer by Rita Jones teaching it to be comfortable on a leash would definitely be something i would do that way the kitty cant run away from you. You need to have a friendly, well socialized cat. Also make sure to keep its nails trimmed very short or put the little plastic nails covers over them so they wont accidentally scratch anyone.

Question by Supergirl: Has anyone ever use clicker training on there cat?
Just curious I’ve heard a few times that cats are very responsive to Clicker training, Any one tried this?

Answer by Ocimom I’ve never tried it with our cats. Tried it with our dog, but it’s probably my problem in it not working well
